of the 29th instant on the subject of the
British lorcha "Waverley"'s seizure
on the 10th instant, I have the

you will be good enough to send copies of the correspondence,
Chinese as well as English, to Her Majesty's Minister at Peking, in order
that Sir John Walsham may take such steps in the matter as he may consider necessary.
